I am from Long Valley, New Jersey and am a senior at The Pingry School. For the past five years, I have hosted a special program for the children temporarily residing at my local homeless shelter called “Fun With Abby”. These children inspired me to start the non-profit organization, Teams For Kids Foundation, Inc., which enables underprivileged youth in New Jersey to play recreational sports.
My HERlead Project: Teaming Up For Kids
I am expanding my 2014 program, which aims to make participation on recreational sports teams a reality for every child, including those who are homeless or from very low-income communities, in my home state of New Jersey.
