Catherine

Catherine is a junior at Keaau High School in Hawaii.  She is passionate about raising the standard of living for people in her community because people of Puna battle socioeconomic woes, as well as environmental conditions beyond their control. Catherine is the founder of Keaau High School Blue Zones Club and creator/supporter of Hale Iki Village’s community garden and carries the mission to promote ideas with a profound effect on those who are battling the odds of survival. Her role is to encourage peers to understand the plight of their fellow citizens and to take an active role in being part of the solution. In her free time, Catherine enjoys planning activities for her 4-H Cloverbuds, caring for her animals, dancing, and gardening.
