Chelsea

I am a junior at Columbia University, studying political science and business management. On campus, I am a member of the Multicultural Recruitment Committee, Columbia’s Mentor Initiative and PREP, which is tutoring incarcerated youth. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, I’ve been exposed to the inequalities within urbanism. As a result, my greatest passions are community outreach, women’s rights, education and law. My motto is “dare to dream!” I hope to one day travel the world promoting social justice, peace building and uniting marginalized communities.

My HERlead Project: WEBELIEVE 2020 EXPANSION

Women Everywhere Believe, Inc., which I started as a HERlead Project in 2013, is now a national organization and movement training women and girls of color to be the next generation of leaders. We plan to address the leadership gap by providing intergenerational and intersectional leadership programs in schools.
