Emily C.
My name is Emily, and I’m a rising senior. Since I was a young girl, I have enjoyed reading, writing and creating artwork. Also, I enjoy performing improvisational comedy. More recently, I’ve become involved in social justice work. Feminism is a cause that has always resonated with me. My whole life, I’ve been surrounded by strong, intelligent and capable women, and in their presence I am consistently reminded to both reach for the stars and remember to help others.
My HERlead Project: reACT - Read. Empower. ACT
I created a feminist literary magazine made by and for teenage girls, emboldening young women across the U.S. and the globe to dream bigger and do bigger. The magazine will publish prose, poetry, artwork and photography created by girls ages 13 through 19.
