I am a junior from Sonoma County, CA. My hometown is largely characterized by agrarian work and my community is very dependent on the environment. As a result, I am very concerned with the negative impacts of the tourism industry and the monoculture of wine on my community. Additionally, I have witnessed the effects of increasing carbon emissions and the destruction of non-renewable habitats. This experience has sparked my passion for addressing the environmental issues in my community, environmental conservation and wildlife protection.
My HERlead Project: UPROOT CAMPAIGN
My HERlead Project aims to make sustainability something that everyone can participate in by creating a campaign to promote sustainability and the building of sustainable habits within my community through a series of events and with marketing techniques.
