Mahsheed
My name is Mahsheed and I am from Afghanistan. I enjoy discussions about global issues, reading and creative writing. I go to school in Maryland, where I am a member of Model United Nations, Student Ambassadors, International Club and a community service club. I play volleyball and basketball. Growing up in a country where women have been treated with violence for a very long time, I realized that talking alone does not help a society to grow equally — it is action that is important for a better and brighter future.
My HERlead Project: BOOK COTTAGE
I will promote a reading culture in Afghanistan for my HERlead Project, building on my previous work that provides a free space for students and book enthusiasts to work on school projects, read and participate in events such as reading and speaker sessions.
