Mikayla, Margaret & Araba

About Araba: I am a sophomore in high school. In addition to being a field hockey player and a Girl Scout, I have been an active member of Operation Smile for two years. I hope to attend medical school after college to become a neurologist and eventually work for Doctors without Borders.

About Margaret: I am a junior in high school. For the past several years, a large portion of my life has been dedicated to service. Since freshman year, I have served on our school’s service board and helped organize many service projects. I am also co-founder and president of our Operation Smile Club. Last year, I was able to attend Operation Smile’s International Student Leadership Conference in Denver.

About Mikayla: I am a junior in high school. My favorite classes are history and science. I am uncertain of what I want to be when I grow up; thoughts range from pediatric surgeon to a CIA agent; however, I am certain that whatever my profession may be, I want my actions to benefit the community. I hope to use my education to better the world, which is why I’ve teamed up with Margaret and Araba to help the girls of Wesley Girls High School in Cape Coast, Ghana.

My HERlead Project: Educating Women for the World

Our project improves the education of and provides greater resources and tools to 1,200 young girls in Ghana.
