I am from Memphis, Tennessee and I am a junior in high school. I am a representative for my mosque’s youth group. Something I am passionate about is education, especially for children and women. A fun fact about me is that I am a poetry fanatic, regardless of whether I am reading, writing or listening to it.
My HERlead Project: Free to be Me
My project will focus on confidence-building and identity exploration for teen girls who are refugees to the United States through a mentorship program that teaches girls how to adapt to a new American context while also celebrating their native culture.
