HERlead Fellowship

2021 Update

To our incredible HERlead Community,

Since 2011, we have partnered with 370 young women leaders to positively impact their communities. Through 248 social impact projects, we have been able to reach 202,885 people in 20 countries around the world. Countless mentors, trainers, and speakers have shared their influence with this group and our HERlead Fellows have inspired us with their passion, perseverance, and dedication to making the world a more equitable place.

Because you have been integral to our partnership, we want to be sure you are the first to know about the future of our program and what’s next for HERlead.

The global health pandemic has had a tremendous impact on the world and the retail industry. Many companies are re-evaluating their business and programs to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 including our partners at ascena retail group inc. Over the last few months, the team at ascena has been working to financially restructure their business. As a result, they have made the decision to reimagine their philanthropic platform and conclude the HERlead Fellowship this month.

We know saying goodbye to this transformative partnership will not be easy. The impact of this program will not be forgotten and we are immensely grateful for the relationships we have developed within the entire HERlead community to date.

While this is a conclusion, it’s also a beginning. We are creating a new chapter for this community. The Vital Voices team will continue to support and invest in this network through Vital Voices’ Online Networking Platform and women leaders around the world. Over the next few months, all former HERlead Fellows will be invited to create an account on Vital Voices’ Platform and join the Rising Voices community of young leaders. We will provide support, networking opportunities, and access to resources via this platform and beyond.
