Even as a kid, I thought I knew what justice was. However, my belief was shaken when I traveled to rural Guatemala to teach English for four weeks. Inspired, yet challenged by these injustices, my passion for empowering the poor and marginalized grew immensely. As I continue to mature, I hope to critically assess, develop and expand my goals of becoming an effective and compassionate lawyer, diplomat and advocate.
My HERlead Project: Proyecto Educación
Proyecto Educación will bring high school students to Guatemala for four weeks to teach math and English to low-income youth. My project aims to promote the value of education as a stepping stone for a successful future to the youth in El Triunfo.
