Ellie and Greta
About Greta: I am 17 years old, I enjoy creative arts, am environmentally conscious, and like to travel and spend time outdoors. I am very active in athletics and play field hockey, squash and lacrosse. I realize how important it is to give my time to my local community, as well as to become an active global citizen. Since I know of the many struggles kids face in the inner city of Baltimore, I want to use my resources and connections to give these kids some of the opportunities that I have had.
About Ellie: I am a 16-year-old who is originally from Potomac, Maryland. I am a rising senior. I have lived overseas for 7 years of my life in Almaty, Kazakhstan and Cairo, Egypt. I am very interested in psychology and human behavior and plan to study it in college. I have a great appreciation and passion for the arts. Since a big part of my childhood has been spent away from the U.S., I have had the privilege of having many multicultural experiences. They have influenced me to be open minded and also informed about existing issues and problems in the world. Through my unique upbringing, I understand the importance of being a global and communal citizen.
My HERlead Project: Child First Partnership
Establish an after school program for at risk youth in Baltimore City, Maryland.
