Jisung is a junior attending Logan High School in Logan, Utah. She is passionate about solving educational disparities that exist for refugee youth. As a high school student who values speaking up for equal educational opportunities for students of all backgrounds and races, she strives to create the bridge that teen refugees can use to adjust to new milieus. Since founding UTREAT (Utah Teen Refugee Education and Tutoring), she has been able to create friendships with teen refugees in her own community and hopes to empower these students to embrace their own individualities with pride. When Jisung is not serving her peers as a student body officer or teaching French to middle school students, she can be found spending endless hours in museums, reading books with a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie in hand, and exploring new coffee shops nestled amongst the mountains of her hometown.
