Karina
I am a senior at The Dalton School in New York City. Computer science is one of my driving passions and I want to give other children, especially those from underprivileged communities and underfunded schools, the opportunity to learn it too. I also love politics and international affairs and am the editor-in-chief of my school’s political magazine, RealPolitik. In my spare time, I can be found on the tennis courts; I am also the captain of my school’s varsity tennis team. A fun fact about me is that I am nearly fluent in Mandarin.
My HERlead Project: Club in a Box
My project will expand upon my 2014 HERlead Project, Club in a Box, which introduces underprivileged students in several schools to computer science and programming through fun games and activities.
