Kay Krill

Kay Krill, board member of ascena Retail Group, Inc., and a dynamic and successful entrepreneurial merchant in women’s apparel, has more than 35 years of experience working in the industry. The former president and CEO of ANN INC., Kay launched the LOFT brand and built it into a $1 billion business, evolved Ann Taylor and successfully rebranded the company. She has distinguished herself as an accomplished leader in women’s specialty apparel and in the fashion industry.

As CEO, Kay was extremely passionate about leading a successful company, but also a caring one. She fervently believes in the fusion of style and substance. As such, she focused her efforts on instilling ANN INC. with an important purpose — to inspire and connect with women to put their best selves forward every day. This purpose is realized through the company’s cause and corporate social responsibility initiatives that focus on caring for the full lives and well-being of all women.

In 2007, Kay founded ANN Cares, a charitable platform that supports issues related to women, children and the environment. Under her leadership, ANN Cares has contributed approximately $50 million to their charitable partners, including the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Kay is also extremely passionate about empowering the next generation of female leaders. She was the driving force behind the HERlead Vital Voices Initiative.

Kay has been recognized for several years by Crain’s as one of the “50 Most Influential Women in New York”. Kay is a phenomenal role model for girls and young women. She currently serves on the boards of ascena Corporation, BCRF and St. Luke’s School. She resides in Connecticut with her twin sons.
