Ruba

Ruba is a junior at Northside College Preparatory High School from Chicago, Illinois. She is a proud lover of the Classics, Harry Potter, photography, coffee, medicine, and reading. When she isn’t reading the latest medical journal (and searching up literally every medical term mentioned) or listening to “The History of Rome” podcast, one could find her advocating for women’s rights, minorities’ rights, gun regulation, and accessible global healthcare. Ruba is especially passionate about tackling Islamophobia because she believes that in today’s society, countless people are unaware of what Islam actually is, and they create misconceptions as to how Islam represents terrorism, which is far from the truth. Ruba hopes to solve this issue by hosting an interfaith community event to bring awareness as to what Islam embodies and how others–people of different religious backgrounds–can support Muslims in their fight against Islamophobia.
