Sophia
I am a sophomore from Encino, California. I am a passionate journalist, photographer and advocate for social justice in Los Angeles. At school, I am an active member of the newspaper and the peer support program, as well as an engaged student with a particular interest in history. Outside of school, I am a correspondent for an international student-run news source called Global Student Square, volunteer for several community-based social justice organizations and spend my free time in the kitchen coming up with new recipes to share with friends.
My HERlead Project: PEACE OF CAKE
I will create a mechanism for Muslim and Jewish teens in Los Angeles, California to build relationships over similarities in their culture through cuisine in my HERlead Project.
