Yamira

Yamira is a sophomore at Saint Petersburg High School in St. Petersburg, Florida. She is passionate about human rights advocacy and the intersection between it and policy. She is the current Florida state lead for Generation Ratify Florida where she works to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment in Florida. Yamira is also the founder and group coordinator of her school’s Amnesty International Club where she organizes events to raise awareness for global human rights violations. Yamira is currently working on building her nonprofit organization, Girls Fight Trafficking, which works to abolish sex trafficking in low income communities. When she is not combating sex trafficking or studying, Yamira likes to watch social-justice documentaries on Netflix and listen to R&B soul music.
